Have you tried to find the family? There are some great genealogy web sites. Of course it may be the nere-do-well family that dumped their history for $5 at a garage sale.
In which case, grandpa should have smothered the kids with a pillow and had grandma sell the milk.
I haven't tried. I might, but I think I'll just keep them. I am starting to have quite the WWII paraphernalia collection so I might try to do collage type photos as art here in the next year or so with some rifles mixed in.

Somewhere I have an (autopen?) signed letter from Hitler, I think he is thanking a lady for having her child for the Reich. I also have some stuff from the pacific campaign.
Books from two different people. Would like to know how the doughboy was connected. Most folks, according to my dad, lived pretty close to the back of the book, especially if living in town and raising kid, unable to garden. Tires, oil, and other commodities were hard to get. Neither has a date, so unable to guess what period of the war these were issued. Very interesting find.

Not saying you should give them away.... but you never know what you find when you start unravelling the sweater... Might be an even bigger collection for the asking!
