Is there any huge difference between a McMillan and a foundation stock? I guess I’ve never felt a foundation, I know they are different materials. Just wondering what all the hype is.

McMillan needs to be bed, where Foundation does not. Foundation also has a a fully profiled action inlet, not a v-block, which distributes the load more evenly and keeps the rifle from having minor zero shifts. Not to mention, the material is not only stiffer than fiberglass (and stronger than aluminum) it is great at damping out vibration and giving the rifle a super solid feel under recoil.
Foundation also does not sponsor anyone, and yet many of the top shooters continue to switch to and use them.
I agree, I will be bedding my foundation. Even though it fits pretty good, there is no way it's as good as bedded in Devcon. Cant hurt.there have literally been threads on people having to bed their Foundation stocks to work and bitching because they bout it being told they wouldnt need to bed it.
Both McMillan and Foundation either do or do not need to be bed. It will depend on your rifle, some benefit and others see no benefit.
Buy the stock style that will fit you and your purpose better. Theres very little difference between a foundation profile and a A6 profile. Look at both companies offereings and buy a style that will fit you.
Im not advocating for either one but im getting tired of the gear chasing bull crap going on here heavily. Either will serve you just as well as the other.
