Last week went out after foxes with the new rifle. Whistled a couple in so was a great day!
Rifle is a 308. Stiller TAC30, Hart heavy palma 19", A1-3, nightforce F1. Shooting 168 Nosler Custom Competition.
Was a big day walking the hills, but it is beautiful country and the views are amazing.
First fox whistled in and shot at about 30m. Didnt see it coming and was shot on the move as he walked towards me.
Second one shot at 125m, whistled in again and shot after he paused. Got sight of me so didnt waste any time. In through chest.. and well... you can see the exit.
Third shot at 215m. Not whistled, saw him on the opposite gully face. This fox I watched for around 10 minutes through both the RF and scope. He was chasing either mice or insects, jumping into the air and pouncing. Was good to watch, but then I shot him. Oh well. Didnt walk over to him after the shot, to steep so grabbed a shot through the scope. Next picture shows shooting position.
Next couple of pictures show the area. Absolutely amazing land!
Will go out again this weekend and give them another go. Did notice my windage was out which did result in a miss at a longer shot.
Enjoy!
