Fraud on trial for welfare fraud.

She is being tried for welfare fraud for less than $9 thousand but evaded reporting $84 thousand income. Intent is hard to prove for tax evasion. The welfare fraud is easy to establish because she falsified information on her application. The government has already spent a ton of taxpayer money taking this to trial and will always be in the red. Her case would be better served through the collection process. Lives are ruined through civil collection and the pain lasts longer. The problem is collection is confidential whereas a public trial sends a message but the government doesn't need to ask for your permission to spend your tax dollars to take such a small fraud case to trial. This trial is more about promoting compliance rather than punishing the defendant.

"Socialism violates at least three of the Ten Commandments: It turns government into God, it legalizes thievery and it elevates covetousness. Discussions of income inequality, after all, aren't about prosperity but about petty spite. Why should you care how much money I make, so long as you are happy?" - Ben Shapiro

Maser,
I usually dismiss most things you post.
With that said, I do remember part of Frank's discussion when he brought you back to the Hide.
One of his statements was that when you weren't trolling people, you could bring reason and rational thoughts to the table.
What you posted above is a shining example of that.
Thanks.
