Definately a great looking rifle. I've been thinking about getting one as well. Its a rock river, so it cant be bad. Several of their varmint rifles will shoot sub MOA, so this shouldnt be any different.

IMO, Rock River sets the bar for varmint rifles. The Fred model looks good but I will bet its loud as hell with a 16" barrel and break.

Its kinda like when Remington stuck a rail on the forend and a tan Ergo grip and Byron Souths name on it and it went from a 900 dollar rifle to a 1600 dollar rifle. Local gun shop had one and didn't like it when I called them out on the price. Anyways I think its a little expensive. Looks cool.

I not a AR guy but isn't a 1-8 16 in barrel kinda short for that fast of twist. I wouldn't think its going to shoot 69smk. I would think 55s. I don't understand the muzzle break. I thought it was for a large rifle. Designed to vent gases back towards the shooter to drive the gun forward. For less recoil.
Am I screwed up in my thinking.

No.
I have a 16" 1:8 and it does well with 52-75 grain bullets.
And to answer your question...hype...I haven't heard of Eichler or that rifle until now. Cryo treated sounds good (it is a form of stress relieving) not sure about the handguard though. Are those paw prints?
And no I would never ever have a brake on a 16" barrel again. Hell no.
