Well it's been years but I'm going to roll my own for a range trip tomorrow with my Savage 10PC. This rifle has only seen factory ammo to this point. I just got done using the Hornady OAL gauge with a Hornady comparator. Here's my measurments using 175 SMKs.
- 2.239" out of 5 tries...All the same..cool
That leaves me with a COAL of 2.806 touching the lands. Sierra list a COAL for the 175's of 2.800. That leaves me with .006 freebore. Is my math correct? I don't have my notes with me for my other rifles but that seems like a very tight chamber.
Going to load with Varget, RE15 or 4064, CCI BR and Lapua brass. I'm not sure which powder yet but I have them all here so those are my choices.
Comments or suggestions?
