can you believe this was with a .223 shooting remington umc 45gr hollow points? did a lot more damage than i thought they would. she rolled over and kicked once.

i freakin love 223. the round never ceases to amaze me when i do my part. it is the best all around small game caliber in my opinion. and no...punxsatawney phil is about 200 miles to my west. a little out of range of my beloved 223. haha!

Looks about right, I shot a doe in the neck with one of those factory loaded rounds from a 20" AR @ ~10yd. Exit wound was quite similar, about the only thing keeping her head on was the hide on the input side.

Love to see those dead groundhogs =D I am using a .22-250 though.
I took two the other day with a CZ 452 Varmint in Mach2 and it did a whole lot more damage than I thought it would

I have been using some 69 gr HPBTs the gun likes; Very accurate but not at all spectacular. Guess I'll switch to more explosive bullets, mostly to eliminate ricochets, but that exit wound is tantalizing.

.223 / 5.56 does more damage than you think it would. No expert, but i think the phenomenon is called hydrostatic shock..
