I’ve been shooting since the 60’s. My main focus lately has been military stuff, mostly AR’s but I shoot a SCAR 17 also. I like to reload and am currently developing a load for my SPR. Thankfuly I live where shooting is only 10 minutes away.
I used go to some matches in the Dalles, and when I was a kid we would go to some friend's place in Dufur for part of the summer. I'm up in Puget Sound area now, but if I can point you toward some shooting resources in the Portland area, or southern Puget Sound, let me know. I have a friend in Walla Walla that says his gun club has some long range shooting...
In any case, welcome to "The Hide", let me know if I can help you out.

I do most of my shooting across the river in Dallesport by the RR tracks. I like to go when the weather is bad as I’ll be by myself.
I’m trying to resist buying a new Tikka T3 in 308. I love living here as shooting is so close.
It is a great area in which to live for many reasons. Access to shooting areas is just one of them. I have a friend in Walla Walla that says that there are some long range matches there if you want more info. I realize it is a drive, but I think finding any matches over 200 yards will take a drive. It takes me about an hour to get to the gun club where I shoot. Fortunately, they have a 600 yard range that is open all the time unless there is a match, and they leave plenty of steel on the range to shoot at.. The most distant piece of steel is about 545 yards, and there are usually plenty of clay birds on the bank at 545 yards to shoot at. At that distance, the clay birds are around .75 Moa, so considering wind, they make great reactive targets.
