I saw it the other day. I have some mixed feelings about chambering an M14 in anything other than 308/7.62.....but other than that it looks pretty sweet
Not terribly new. Dave Sullivan at West wind rifles has been doing M1As in everything from 22-250, 243, 260, for some time. I'd love to have one in 6.5 creedmoor and a sage chassis.
I think you're right, dollar for dollar, the AR10 platform is "better". That being said, the M14 platform can be pushed to do some cool stuff, and there are guys who just gotta have it because it's different
Anyone have any idea how something like this is expected to shoot? If it's still a 2-4 MOA gas gun, other than a little gain in ballistics (wind), I don't see the point.
The AR 10 is more accurate and costs less. The M1A in 6.5 Creed is nothing more than functioning cool factor.
I do not agree that the 6XC has a better pressure compatibility than the 6.5. Choice of powder and gas allowed through the system dictates functionality. Adustable gas system is the way to get a broader range of use out of the rifle.
