Looking to build an upper for anyone who will fund it for me. Just looking for a project and experience. All I will charge is parts, shipping and a very small labor price for some fuel in the ol truck. I will build any upper, whatever style you want ar-15 or ar-10. When I say I do it for experience, I don't mean it's my first time, be assured I have the proper tools and knowledge to do this. I am looking into going to gunsmithing school, and I would like to get started building my background. Thanks for the support

There isn't any real gunsmithing involved in building an AR15 or AR10 upper receiver, unless you are profling and fitting your barrels from blanks with barrel extensions.

There are minor custom tweaks those of us who chase accuracy do, but I wouldn't call it gunsmithing in the traditional sense.

Do you have any instrumentation to check surface hardness, alignment gauges, bore scope, gas port diameters, thread concentricity, OD to bore concentricity, receiver face squareness, bolt face squareness, etc.?

I Know what you mean. Yes I do actually do all of that. I take every part and make them as precise as possible and accurate as possible. While not a necessarily complicated job, I feel it helps me pay closer attention to detail

I consider myself somewhere between a "parts assembler" and an actual gunsmith. I am not a certified gunsmith, but that is my goal. I am also not a "kitchen gunsmith". I consider my work to be of good quality, and not amateur. A lathe and heavy milling machine are the only pieces of equipment I do not currently own, but I am working toward that with small jobs.

Parts incoming for my dad's Christmas present. 6.5 Grendel gasser. Hoping to get to work on milling out the lower soon. Right at 1700 for anyone interested in one. I'll post pics when it's together
