THIS is why, when I was deer hunting, I ALWAYS carried my pistol with me. If I was ever chased by a wild hog, my rifle was not going up the tree with me. I was using both hands to get up the tree.
Not only that; this guy in the tree has a great hunting buddy. He taking pictures, and probably laughing his ass off, instead of shooting the hog.
Thats funny. I have that rule in my house since about 3 yrs old.
The point is to teach honesty and integrity are two virtues that are of great importance. We do talk about the behavior and that it should not happen again and why.
First time it really came into play, my daughter was 3. She had been home with her mom (my now ex) and there was crayon all over 1 wall in the dining room.
I calmly asked if she knew what happened and if she would tell me about it. She told me she did it because it was perfect for drawing on. So big, no other colors, and she could make a giant picture.
I told her that I was so proud if her for telling the truth and took her for ice cream.
We visited about where she should color next time over a cone.
Never happened again.
I didnt dream this up, got it from a friend. And dang has it had exactly the effect I was hoping for.

THAT was awesome. I would love to see one of those. Not sure I want to see it that close, but I would love to see that in person.
