He appears to have been the Ben Lilly of coyotes.Eastern Oregon is a different planet than Western Oregon. Still not a lot of people out there. Incidentally I know exactly where Coyote Jack's place was located. I went there a couple of times and found some old bottles, broken glass and other stuff. No old traps though. I hunted coyotes and bobcats near there and I had my Airedale Angus with me. I like to think Coyote Jack was there.

Ben Lilly wasn't married, had no mouths to feed other than his hounds and probably had a screw loose. He killed so many bears and mountain lions, the government told him to knock it off. That was before game laws.
