Please take a moment to remember John Cruickshank the last remaining Victoria Cross recipient from WW2. He led a daring raid against a U-Boat and saved his crew in an incredible feat of bravery.

It is not fair to say that 'they don't make them like this any more." Because there are his equals and betters who served in Korea, Vietnam, Somalia and both Iraq and Afghanistan.

But he is the last of a generation of warriors who saved the free world long before most of us were born. And deserves to be remembered by his fellow-warriors and their adjuncts.

RIP, sir. You saw and did things most of us can never imagine. And then went on to live a famiily life as a mild-mannered banker. Nothing could be a greater requiem for a real warrior.

Photo taken on a SWAT deployment a couple of days ago. LE Marksman/Observer deployed on the callout. Neighborhood cat decides it's a good place to catch some sun.

Totally epic photo! Because Cats know who they are safe with. And who is a warm body as well.

Are you sure he wasn't just protecting another family from a LGBT, sir? Just saying. :giggle:

Sadly it's a staged training demonstration
Nice. I swear I watched it three times before I posted...looking for any hint muzzle flash/recoil/anything. It seemed too clean. There was just a tiny amount of muzzle movement, so I thought either he has a good grip or perhaps fake (loaded a blank)...but gave them the win. :)

Good catch. (Also the clown never looked up/around when the crowd let out an asinine roar, so wrote this off to them flying the drones in closer as a distraction.)

It was posted before, somewhere is a more in context video that includes the training aspect.

The size of the crowd is one thing that makes it sus but if you clock the video frame by frame the head snap doesn't match the pop. But, video can still do sketchy things because of frame rate so I searched.

Doesn't make it any less entertaining to watch.

Yeah, at Kunsan, those Army fucks would get together early on Saturday mornings. They'd be out there yelling and screaming at the troops that couldn't get lined up.
You were at the Koon?....if I never see that place again it will be too soon. This was in the late 70's....no idea what its like now. But then, aside from flying the only other thing to do there was drink.

And personally, I love Army and Marines....they defend the airbase perimeter. lol

Speaking of SWAT, hey, man, nice [shot]!

Another angle…

Looks like training drill

Still impressive rope work!

Sirhr

Go to full screen with the video then watch the pistol as the shot is taken. There's no recoil. Pause the video right before the shot is taken and note that it doesn't look like the pistol is lined up on the suspect.

Ammo bowl on your first weekend for the win.

Yeah, fuck that.

I really did enjoy a lot of the food from A-Town. And the round-eyed girl I shared it with.

Kimchee, some leftover rice and a couple of over medium/easy eggs makes a damn fine meal. Rebecca likes it also.

The alcoholic concoction or the softball tournament? Of course, the second always ended with the first.

Those who know, know...

We found out you could buy oil of cinnamon at the drug store , soaked our own toothpicks. Even had a guy sell them for a nickel a toothpick in Jr High until the principal busted him. 😬

I thought it was the plywood silhouettes strategically positioned around the perimeter.

Damnit DS, did you crash your toe?

R
Yes. Bled all the way around. Then the nail fell off a week or 2 later

Oh I think yall would lol if you knew the tale of me destroying I mean putting together a thermo fit upper and hg. Involves a 12 lb sledge, a shop press and bent things

A man’s got to know his limitations.

Get out and choot something

Now you are reminding me of a character from a book. Cadderly Bonaduce from the Cleric Quintet book series by R. A. Salvatore used "spindle disc's" as weapons. D&d based series set in the Forgotten Realms universe.

I'm going to call myself out first.

NERD!
We used to use 'spindle disks' as weapons, too! #NinjaStars

Reminds me of those crazy Spetsnaz videos
