I am looking to get a Game Camera for my father's christmas present. I was hoping to find something fairly simple for him to use, good battery life, etc. etc. I was looking around the local BassPro and found some brands like Cuddeback, Moultrie, to name a few.

I have never purchased or used one so i have no idea on what is good. I would like to keep it around the $250 price range or less. Any of you guys have good luck with any one in particular?

Thanks for the help
Kevin

Re: Game Camera advise

I've used the stealthcam Sniper IR 5.0 megapix digital camera that has worked great for me and with a price tag of $199.99 its a deal for an IR cam, plus it is pretty easy to use with good battery life. Just my .02 cents.

I don't mean to jump your thread but I am wondering the same thing. Can you put big memory cards in these things? I would like to be able to use one that I could upload the images to my computer without having to go look at it all the time. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you have to have cell phone service in that area to make that work? If so then I need one that well hold a bunch of photos.

Re: Game Camera advise

You can put memory cards in capable of holding 4g worth of pics (thats a shit load of pictures). There are GPS adapters for a few brands that can turn them into wireless cameras, however you do need to have cell phone coverage in order for them to transfer data to your home. With the wireless comes more cash forked out fot the goodies plus a monthy fee for the wireless coverage. So, in my opinion it is better to stick with the large memory card and visit your camera as needed.
