Game changer?

One side has to accept its own destruction for nuclear war to mean anything.

The powers that have nukes, have so many that it doesnt matter. If they have the will to launch them the "missile will get through". We will be literally blasted back into the dark ages.

The biggest threat to US is internal.

With all the brain washing going on I can picture a not to distant future where our leadership will surrender without a shot fired because the alternative will be the destruction of "Gaia".

They will expose the necks to tyrants to save a polar bear.

unpredictable flight path and the capability to impregnate practically all interception lines is invulnerable to all existing and future anti-missile and air defense weapons," Putin said.

We're talking about weapon of mass destruction or creation for fucks sake... Nuclear powered dildo to impregnate all interception lines wtf is this kinky diplomatic talk. Trump and Putin seem to have wierd sense of remote telephone sex me thinks :)....

Dunno the idiot that did the translation but for fucks sake this article alone kinda makes me want to erase humans from existence...

I guess they found some money in the budget for propaganda. Same as when they hired people to go around saying that they were no the verg of fusion power plants because of their advanced welding tech in the 80's. 1) It is probably not true. 2) It does not change anything anyhow.

Their claiming it’s a “Mach 20+” cruise missile ...... that would be a game changer...

How?

They launch their cruise missiles, which if they have them we already probably have the Gen II version, than we launch our return strike.

15 minutes later anyone left alive now lives in the Second Millenia version of the year 900.

If these things travel that fast we just have to lighten the trigger from a NY mandated 10 pounder to a benchrest ready .5 pounds.

Nuclear weapons capability these days is pretty much designed to make sure you never get invaded or seriously attacked in your home land.
It's great to make yourself feel good, but not of much use for projecting useful power and your average mid level conflicts all over the world.

Vladimir Putin’s urge for sizing dicks with the US is absolutely outrageous, he has crumbled their economy. It will not be easy but I believe we can handle the Russians when it comes to war and strategy. What scares me are their Allies. I know for a fact that the Chinese will not side up with us, the North Korea will also be against us, all the moon ? worshipper, the britts and Canada are absolutely unreliable. correct me if I am wrong but we don’t have much war allies.

IMHO, true or not, Putin is rattling the saber for his domestic consumption. Nobody has had the balls to pull a nuclear trigger since Harry T. If the balloon goes up, so what, I'm already 72, f'gosh sakes. Got to go sometime...

Let’s see... launched from a sub 5 miles off our coast at Mach 20..... impact in NY and DC would be what..... 3-4 minutes?

Nobody is going to be launching from that close. You are not going to get a missile sub that close to the mainland USA & ready for launch procedures without having been taken care of long ago.

Also if you could sneak in that close, no need to use your expensive submarine with a fancy expensive missile, just get 5 or less miles off the coast, head up to the surface and detonate a 100+ Megaton warhead.

Seeems there is little we agree on anymore Greg, but I'm glad Im 68. Ive seen enough of this world.

Don't we have fighter jets equipped with high powered lasers that are meant to take out missiles in flight? A laser travels ~186,000 miles per second! That's considerably faster than mach 20. ;)

not for this application yet. detection and stability are a hurdle

We have a version of an anti-missile airborne laser, but it is basically a slow moving 747 class aircraft with a limited number of shots using a chemical laser & a limited effective range. It is designed to take out missiles at the launch end, basically something you would for example have patrol off the coast of NK if things were a bit hot, to fry a missile on the launch pad or as it takes off.

well I can tell you this, I seen a laser knock down a jet at super sonic speed in white sands in 87, I also seen other stuff that will boggle the mind, AD s the most advanced part of our military, we have Himad figured out now we are worried about swarm with drones, tech that we also pioneered so focus is shifting back to shorad, funny enough the weapon systems I started on and are now in museums are now getting refurbed and bolt on electronics that will boggle the mind. I worked on the development team for the US Army version of ADATS for two years, we couldn't get the system small enough for reliable deployment on a bradley chassis, but that system was undefeatable. You have to imagine pretty hard to understand what they are working on right now. An old engineer from martin marietta, a ww2 camp survivor from lithuania, told me our rule is to work two generations ahead of the next possibility, that comes from DARPA. Whatever that shithole Russia has we are 3 generations ahead of it and we have already developed a countermeasure to what we have so I don't worry about them. I have been in 10 shoot downs of jet and rotor aircraft. you can see many on youtube now.

that sounds close anyway. when you look at what Google Maps gives you for free imagine what they can really do.
