Anyone have a GAP-15 and give a report on your impressions? How's the accuracy? (Yes, I know its a GAP, so it should be fantastic) What velocity are you getting and are you using reloads or store bought?

I've seen one video on it comparing it to a bolt gun that GAP built. The video gave it good review, but I'd like to hear more.

Correction to Ballistic-X:
Hornady VMAX are 60 gr not 55

Wow, this place is turning into ARFCOM!

I can build one myself thank you. I've built plenty of AR's and I agree it would be cheaper. Just wanted to know something simple, but instead I get the clown patrol to answer. :poop:
My response is sincere. Just showcasing a Seekins build with Proof CF and matching JP bolt. SA agb. It was under $3k for sure.

I wasn't clowning on your thread, there are a staggering amount of people who are under the impression that because a name is attached to a Lego gun it somehow presents some magical secret to produce greater accuracy and as per your OP you did sound like you were assuming since it wears a GAP logo it was going to have exceptional performance..

"Yes, I know its a GAP, so it should be fantastic"

As for MZ and preferred projectiles, the GAP-15 isn't really going to perform any different then any other AR in 6mm ARC with a 22" Barrel with a 1-7.5 Twist and there are several forums of reloaders posting the exact information you're seeking.

I'm a fan of GA Precision and I support George and his team, but in regards to his semi-auto line he's kept it simple as far as contracting out the best available parts and using the quality barrel blanks he can turn in house to make a accurate rifle. I have made that exact build several times in .223, 6.5G and and 224 Valk and they have all performed exceptionally well.... But there's definitely no mystery special sauce behind it.

Here's a good place to start and get some realistic expectations of how the rifle will perform. Most people report on average a 15fps difference for 1" of barrel length +/-, keep in mind that's for the AR platform that loses a fair amount of it's gases due to the inherent operation of the platform. The difference in MZ from bolt guns will be higher due to its greater retention of propelling gases and the capability of reloading closer to the max pressure limit without any adverse effects like you see as lot sooner on gassers like case damages from ejector smudges and harsh case extraction, also don't forget that the variations presented by temperature and elevation along with the fact that just some barrels are faster than others.

Ok, it looks like I need to be more specific...

I've been researching the 6mm ARC for a while now. I've come across many reviews and such that show the AR-15 platform in 6mm ARC has accuracy issues. (The bolt guns seem to be fine).

I don't know if the reviewers just don't know how to shoot a semi-auto correctly or if it's an actual problem with the rifle or chamber or whatever.

There is one gunsmith who has a YT channel that claims he's fixed the accuracy issue by using a custom chamber (shortening the freebore, etc).

So that led me to GAP, where I have several of their rifles, including a GAP-10, which all shoot extremely well. Noticing that they have a 6mm ARC offering, I want to get some "real world" reports on it. Is anyone else seeing these accuracy "flyer" issues with this cartridge from the GAP-15?

Maybe the YouTubers used a shit barrel like BCA in their home build and the upper isn’t square or it needed bedding. IDK, I don’t follow it too much. I do know the 6ARC is something I want and should have stocked up on ammo when stuff was flying off the shelf because it was the last stuff hanging out during the panic. 2 weeks they said, 2 weeks. Maybe the CDC got their guidance from gunsmiths for lead times. “Just tell them 2 weeks, works for us”.:ROFLMAO:

Not trying to act like BCA is anything more than what it is but I got a complete upper from them 7.62 x 39 and here’s a day out with factory Russian ammo. I haven’t shot it enough to speak to any kind of reliability. Just $220 to have fun with all the ammo I have.
Decent at 50 yards. The red dot is a little disadvantaged to group at 100.

Waffle House food makes a turd just like Michelin restaurant food does.

I have an AR Stoner Grendel barrel that is more than likely BCA and not Liberty. I swapped the scope and it’s not the scope. My Liberty/Stoner in 5.56 is almost as accurate as my Criterion. So far I’d have been better off using the Grendel in the garden to hold up my tomatoes.

Back up to 100yards and see how it does.

I get it. I’ve had no problem hitting 12” steel out to 250, which is why I bought it.
My point is basing anything on a few anecdotal experiences is shit.
