I heard that GAP will inlet your Mcmillan stock for a Badger M2008 action for $120. True? Has Anyone had this done? I left a post awhile back asking if you could inlet a McMillan stock (thats inletted for rem.700) to fit a Badger M2008 and everyone said , "Hell no! that would be way to much stock removing!, Buy a new stock!" Now that I heard GAP might do this Im considering it. Im having a .300 Win. Mag built and cant decide what kind of action I want to put on it. I wanted to put on a M2008 but then I heard you couldnt so I kinda decided on the Surgeon RLR (Long action) but now I heard GAP inlets for M2008s. So now what? Does GAP inlet McMillan stocks for Badger M2008 actions that were already inletted for Rem700 Actions or what?

Re: GAP action work question

Yes we do, The Correct Stock for a 2008 is an A5 McMillan with a Benchrest tang. the 2008 will fit into a Rem 700 stock but the tang will be high. If you dont mind the tang being high then yes we can inlett one for you. I have alot of stocks available for the 2008 action. so if you just looking for a stock thats ready to go give us a call.

So does this mean we can use an A4 that has been inletted for a Remington. I won't mind if the tang sticks up unless it makes a difference on accuracy. Does it?

Re: GAP action work question

Yes you can use any stock that has been inletted for a Remington but yes the tang will stick up out of the stock. It does not look that bad. Marty from badger posted some pics of this on the hide a year ago so do a search and you can probably find them on here still. HTG will work as well.
No Affect on accuracy
