The picture on the GAP website shows what appears to be a cord wrapping on the scope of the Extreme Hunter Rifle. What is the purpose of this?

maybe a tactical noose ? just in case , distractions for cats while you hunt them no that why people made laser pointers , some people love string keeping kids quiet . Na that's what duct tape was made for. All joking aside I do not know.
