Gap production rifle 6gt. Talk me out of it.

I’m not a match shooter, just a paper cutter. I’m going to try and order one of the GAP production rifles and I am leaning towards the 6gt over the 6 creed. I already reload for .223 and .308, so I have pounds of Varget in my reloading room. And before you start, a gay tiger will still kick the crap out of
any man on the planet. I’ve also heard that 6 creed can be a pain to load for. Don’t really care that much about barrel life between the two. If I ever shoot out the barrel, I will have already bought many more guns to play with and a much bigger safe.

Im not sure what the problem is... Sounds like the 6gt is for you. I've owned several 6 creeds and understand that the extra speed is hard on barrel life. In a PRS style rig I doubt you'll notice any difference in accuracy with proper load development. If you aren't a speed chaser and you handload then 6gt is a good choice. If you like multiple factory ammo offerings and a larger variety of handloading components then 6 Creed may be a better choice. Doubt you'll be unhappy either way.

There's nothing to really talk you out of. It seems like a very excellent rifle with great components at a really good price range. The 6GT is a great cartridge.

There's nothing to really go wrong with that choice.

Ironically, these "talk me out of XX" threads are usually more like "validate my decision" threads lol. Trying to remember the last one where the OP was actually talked out of doing what they had already made up their mind for. Meaning no offense to the OP here of course, most of us are guilty of this.

I’m a bit of an over researcher (ocd) and there is not a ton of info on the 6gt. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience different from the general internet chatter (sales pitches).

It does what it is described as doing which is basically be a slightly improved 6x47. There are reloading threads.
