The Garmin instructions indicates the unit should be 15" back from muzzle. My Barrett MRAD has only about 8" of exposed barrel before the forend bridge begins. Will the velocity be affected ?

I have an MRAD too, and my Garmin couldn't care less ... anywhere on the bench seems to work fine.
Thanks. I definitely didn't read the Garmin graphic correctly. I can only blame a new Garmin and several hours of shooting in the hot sun. I hope that explanation will serve as an excuse for asking what appears to be a stupid question.
