Rifle Scopes GDI or Spuhr

I have a S&B 5-25X56 on order. I'm currently configured for a Spuhr 20 MOA mount. As with all purchases I make of this expense I'm second guessing all over the place. I think I have the right stuff but the voice in my head keeps telling me "check this out". All will be well once I get the stuff in hand but because everything in this sport is a 8-12 week lead time it can really make somebody neurotic thinking about the gear choices.

Besides the obvious benefits of QD mounts anyone had experience with both GDI and Spuhr to give recommendations of one over the other?

A .308 LMT MWS.

Most of my shooting will be known distance targets from a mat or bench. I currently do no gaming. Occasionaly (once or twice a year) I will want to remove the scope to use the rifle in a positional CMP/NRA type match using the LMT iron sights. I would be using a Borka tourque tool for remove/reinstall of the Spuhr base.

Go for the gold and get the Sphur. The cool factor is high, what a way to compliment your scope choice.

I have both the GDI and the Spuhr mounts and both are awesome mounts. For what you're doing the Spuhr is fine and IMO there's no reason to spend the cash on the GDI. I went the the GDI because I remove my S&B when I put it in my safe (I've run out of room and new safe is on the way). If you're only going to remove it once or twice a year - stick with the nice mount you've already got.

Thank you for the positive reinforcement. I'll stay the Spuhr road.

I'll just breath into a brown paper bag next time I start thinking instead of bothering the forum.

Cost of these items and the lead times is killing me.

I've been contemplating the same thing for my Larue OBR 7.62.

Don't plan on ever removing the scope so i suppose the Spuhr makes more sense?

Anyone know where I can pick one up?

I hear ya, TNVC said that my 0moa cantilever Spuhr was back ordered 1-2 weeks, that was a week ago. So far I am glad I went the Spuhr route, seems like a really nice piece. Cant wait to get it mounted on my REPR with the new SWFA 1-6x.

Mile High had them in stock 3 weeks ago. They offer 5% SH discount and support Mil/LEO.

I'll see mine sometime during/after my estimated 8-12 week lead time for the scope.

Note: Lead time comment is not a knock on the sellers. I'm glad the gun industry is booming. I just hope all the new enthusiasts get some training and more importantly vote.

It's really too bad the GDI doesn't have a bubble level.
