I have a new Gemtech Quicksand and it is nice. Been happy with it, only been out for two shoots.
First time out, the very first shot, the bullet hit the hole on the way out. Did not hit a baffle and did not harm it. It happened again, and you can see the brass on the edge, and the POI had a 12 inch shift.
I have another mount, trying to find the source of the problem. When we looked through the barrel with the "possible bad mount ", it was not way off, but seemed very slightly off. Put my second one on and it seems to be better. Im still nervous to shoot it.
I would be thrilled if it was in fact the problem. I am going to send the mount to Gemtech, as they have been very good. I first expected it was the Rem700 threaded barrel, but maybe its the mount.
Anyone ever seen the same problem?
