Well after an 8 month wait got my gemtech HVT this week. Went with the QD version mostly because I want to use on my POF 308 which has the 14.5" bbl. To keep from having to do an SBR tax stamp needed to pin the quick mount and keep it legal so threaded version was out.
Will post pics later but first trip to the range and I am very pleased. At 100 yards had minimal POI difference - group went about 1" left and 2" low. I am okay with this. Group size was identical. Wasn't shooting my best but off bipod and rear bag getting consistent groups a hair over 1" (5 shot groups), with best of the day suppressed group measuring 0.6". This rifle is a solid performer, have had good days where 0.5" at 100 yards was not difficult. Overall I consider it a solid MOA rifle.
Was using 44g varget over 168 Amax in win brass.
Noise and felt recoil reduction were excellent, though I have nothing to compare to. Hard to describe the sound, but without hearing protection was not bad at all. I did use plugs most of the time though (habits are hard to break).
Going to put this on a bolt rifle and the POF, and shoot to 500 meters as soon as I can. Will post pics and results when done.
Overall I am extremely pleased. I did call gemtech twice to ask some questions and I want to say they are very helpful and friendly on the phone.
More to come...

Re: Gemtech HVT QD finally arrived

I have a Gemtech HVT that I shoot on my Semi's. It is a very dependable suppressor. I use a titanium suppressor for the bolt rifles but the stainless HVT works well with mag dumps for the AR's...mega fun.

Re: Gemtech HVT QD finally arrived

I have shot my HVT on my AR10 next to our SR25s with KAC cans and I received many compliments on how quiet my suppressor was. If you shoot without ear pro, I would at least put a plug in my right ear to protect it from the noise exiting the ejection port. I sometimes have to do this when shooting steal at long distances to hear the report.

I did have a problem with my point of impact walking all over the place. Turns out that the weld had broken and the end piece by the quick mount was loose. I sent it to Gemtech and they re-welded it and put a pin in it so there is no way of it loosening up again. Great customer service! I had it back in under two weeks from the time I shipped to them.

Re: Gemtech HVT QD finally arrived

Shot it today at 550 yards with my POF 14.5" barrel. 18 of 20 rounds went into 6" group (other 2 rounds opened group to 10" total).. I am very pleased so far. I am looking forward to trying it on my bolt gun out a little further.
No pics, brought a camera out with me that had a dead battery!
So far no issues, about 100 rounds through it so far.
Knocking down the steel rams at 500 meters was boringly easy, even for my 17 yr old daughter. All shooting was done with bipod and rear bag, shooting 168 amax over 44 g varget.
I shot mostly with one ear plug in - really enjoy hearing the 'ping' of steel.
Next outing I will check my battery on my camera before going...
