Gen 3 Razor/higher magnification

I currently have a Gen 2 razor on my RimX and I hate the 3 set screws to adjust the zero. I am looking at getting a Gen 3 razor. I like the ebr reticle. For the guys who run the Gen 3 razor do you find that the reticle is too small running 15-20 power. That’s where I run my Gen 2. I had a very little bit of time on a Gen 3 and I kinda felt that but it could also be because I didn’t have a ton of time behind it.

Nope. That’s where I run mine mostly and no issues. It’s nice to have the higher power when needed though. I think you will like the upgrade. I ran Gen IIs for years.

Always got to make the small adjustments with temp changes. In NC and it’s been in the high 90s and over a 100 a few days so I can relate lol It’s easier with the one screw on the Gen III but still need to do it.

Yeah. I hate doing it because my brass inserts have spots in them from over the years and the set screws want to fall in those grooves sometimes. I have been able to get away with it so far this year but today I got bit. Lesson learned.

I’m sure they will shoot me some out. They are pretty awesome. Regardless of what people say. Their warranty is very nice when shooting prs

Yup it is nice to have it if the scope gets smacked around on props. Been using Vortex since 2013 in matches.

Prob has a little bit better fov at that range than the gen 2.

A lot of the time I will zero my scope by putting the slight offset in the program versus messing with the scope.

Yeah kestrel goes over how to do that. I guess I’m just reminiscing about the days where I ran a strike eagle. The glass is def not the same but it was nice to take the turrets off with a quarter in my pocket and make a fine adjustment and keep it rolling.

Having to mess with turrets has driven me to purchase 2 and probably a third Theos. The G3 was at the top of my list until I played with a Theos.

I upgraded to Gen 3 from Gen 2 because of the reticle: The 7C reticle only has 0.5 mil increments, and since I mostly use holdovers, the 7D suits me better.

fair point. We had a hold over stage a few matches back and I had 3 stem hits because of my guestimation. You just brought up something I didn’t really think about.

Shouldn’t really be a guess. Practice breaking down the area between the marks. Yes having the marks there make it easier but it’s not hard with .5 marks to break it down to .1s.
