getting started, how???

I have been looking on the web for hours now and even searched SH for info on how I can get started in tactical comps. all I found was articles on thing like what you need to get started not where I can just sign up for one.

I think my main problem is that there might not be too many around where I live that is in reasonable driving distance. I live in the communist state of Connecticut BTW.

do any of you know where there might be matches held in my area and where to get the info on how to sign up for one?

You're prolly gonna have to drive man, my first ever match was a ten hour drive and my second was 13. Well worth the travel to go to a big one and see what it's all about and shoot against the top dawgs haha.

Most matches are happy to have an extra hand to RO, score keep or spot hit/misses. And you get to watch how other shooters are set up, and what works. Then jump in

That's the best advice you will ever get. There is a lot to learn in this game, and you will learn what works for other shooters as far as gear and rifles go. One word of advice, once you get in there is no getting out, it is very addicting.
