i want to start doing my own work and maybe some for my freinds. only as a hobby for my own shooting. i have had many custom rifles made and have been loading and playing with custom rifles for 15 years. i really understand rifles and how they work and how to make them shoot. does anyone have any good information on how to learn machine work? i feel that if i could get traind on how to properly run machines i could build myself some nice rifles. There is no one around here that i could apprentice from. There is a trade school down the road that offers machining classes. How many classes or how much machine training am i going to need to properly under how the machines operate?

take any machine class that deals w/ manual operations. buy a lathe a mill and some projects.
