Well two rounds on the range today and my biPod snapped into two pieces. My other GG&G has hundreds and hundreds of rounds on it with no issues, but this one only made it to range session 3 and snapped.

Going to call them this week to see if they’ll replace it, but curious if anyone has had to return one before.

Yea it was really odd. Fired the second round and then when I shouldered it for the third it just felt loose, like the tension clamp camp loose. When I picked up the rifle to tighten it, the legs stayed on the ground and the other piece came up with the rifle. Weird that recoil would have done something like that, so I wonder if there was an impurity in the metal.

That's definitely a metal failure, but I can't really tell from the pictures what that anomaly is. I can't tell if it was maybe an improperly heat treated piece that snapped (a real likelihood) or if there was something wrong with the base metal to start with. Either way, that is a manufacturing defect so you should be good to go to get it replaced.

The bipod looks like its made from cast metal? If it was quality steel, that never would have happened. Even if it was heat treated and the rc was too high. I could make you a replacement piece out of stainless.....

I might have you do that. GG&G said they would fix it there no problem, but it’ll be fixed with the same cast.

Apparently a 13lb 7mm mag is too much for the standard duty biPod I learned on the phone with them today.

For what 3g charges for a bipod, I would think the spigot part would be stainless. I could see damage by bending, but to fracture is a joke! Nothing like having a 2-4k gun nose dive onto the ground :(

I'm a little surprised honestly. I've been using GGG bipod QC pic rail adaptors for over 6 years on all of my rifles, even the heaviest ELR rigs without a single failure. Of course those are actually milled solid stock. Are you sure that spigot is cast? If so, that's a sad and poor choice on their part.

Update: got it back from GG&G with about a 2 week then around. All is fixed and good to go. Guess I’ll run it on a lighter gun haha.
