GGWG's Support For A Young Canuck

This looks good, but,,,, as My Lady commented immediately upon seeing this, is how about something less "rainbow"-ish. Maybe we gotta tone down the colors.

I get the intent, but that's kinda loud/maybe-even-gaudy.

How about this idea, either all 4 letter the same color with the two lines (keep them) or ONE of the letters being 'cut out' of the US Flag. Thing is though, we're all from a number of different countries, so.... whom do we include/exclude? Canada, Australia, etc.

Hence why after further thought, I'm leaning back towards 'subtle/subdued' lettering. With the blue and green lines.

Just got home a bit ago, gave him and the family the presentation.

It was a VERY touching event. His father filmed him following along as I'd read off what I'd written. (this way I couldn't forget anything)

First off, I'd like to thank again EVERYONE whom has contributed. And been a part of GGWG.

I also want to call-out to Larry. I believe his full name granted upon his Briss is Larry McSquirell Propane-meister Schartz. For you to have built this whole GGWG up to the level that it is... deserves commendation in itself.

I also can't tell ya'll, how absolutely incredible it was to us, to help this family out. YOU all did that. We were just the messenger.

Wyatt wants to say something to ya'll, but he's going to need a bit of time to put it all together. Don't forget, he's 12, and he's a GREAT kid. We gave the presentation tonight, because as of midnight tonight, the Province of Manitoba is under lockdown because of the CHINfluenza. Only essential travel is allowed, and all the rest of the shutdowns are involved. This way it gives them (the family) something "good" to stand on, and move forth from here.

When we arrived home there was yet another PP donation, and we still have a number of snail-mails to come in, so there will be another 'hand-off' after this all settles down. (the mail coming in, not the shut-down) When Wyatt is able to come to our house here, I'll be showing him this thread, and the PM's, and whatnot. I also told him that if he wants to sit at the keyboard and say something, that I'm perfectly good with that.

He wants to. (they live South of the city here, so it's not like he's within walking distance).

When I was reading, he was following along intently, and then when I told him the number he just completely "fell-apart" as did his family. It was VERY dusty around there.

I/we have donated to GGWG's and other causes in the past, and I have to state unequivocally that for us to see the immediate effect, like a chain reaction, right through the whole family..... was really REALLY something.

Bless ya'll. Bless ALL ya'll.

----I'm still trying to figure out whatever the "protocol" is here, and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, and I'm trying to be both prudent and respectful. I'm asking Larry for what-can-be-said-where, and as for the video I'm not sure about that either. Because A) the Hide does not host video's, and B) we ARE talking about a minor here.... so I myself gots learnin' to do.

Just know, people, that you all really ARE the Salt Of The Earth.

Outstanding Sean ! (y)(y)(y)

In addition to Lulu, I’d also like to recognize Tucker as he had a great deal to do with the formation of GGWGs. (y) (y) (y)Too bad he’s no longer around:cry:;)
I completely agree, and in no way meant to reduce the importance of what Tucker created, instilled, and has done to improve this place where we reside. (in our own minds, at least) The Torch was picked up by 1J04 and he has run with it and maintains the integrity that has been built over these years.

The man may have a few peccadillo's, (squirrel fetish, propane-thing,,,,) but when it comes to Right and Wrong, or Good and Bad, in this gauntlet of life he steers us correctly.

Just imagine the Tag-Team match that this place would have, with the two of them together! It'd be Epic.

As for the "total" that has been asked, last night we handed to Wyatt (via the PP on his dad's phone) $1256.54 and then get home to another PP donation, as well as a request for 'my digits' for an E-Transfer. This is also not including whatever 'snail-mails' we receive that are still inbound.

Guys, "Hit it outta the park" just doesn't describe this enough. The way I see it, is it hits people 'deeper' than if they were to 'win the lottery' because of the fact that they 'go out and buy a lottery ticket' and in their head have the "I have a chance at winning" (no matter how minuscule that is), whereas THIS here, this GGWG campaign... not only do people "not know about it" but they don't even know it exists to begin with. So getting support and funds from "people" whom think alike, and still have value on Respect and Integrity.... it hits SO deep.

It hits SO hard...

@Sean the Nailer et al:

As you may remember, years ago I had this idea to do some things for some people. I knew with so many like minded individuals "we" had thee perfect opportunity to make real changes in people's lives, together. Together, as we know, we're extremely powerful. I guess they call it Crowd Funding. I don't like the term to be honest. I just call it many good and decent people wanting to make a difference. So I reached out to Tucker with my idea and then to Frank because Tucker directed me to him for permission to do some things for Hide Members and people in others Communities. And whammo, we were off and running and haven't looked back since.

I am by far not the guy for the accolades. Tucker neither. Frank has given us the opportunity to do this. He's given his blessing and we're appreciative of him for that. The REAL accolades go to people like you and all these other incredible people we're blessed with having the heart to help people and make a difference. It's really pretty damn incredible. We're lucky. Plain and simple. We're lucky to be surrounded by so many like minded people who really do give a damn about others and whom are ardent supporters of the things we do.

So now you've seen 1st hand just how some of this works. It's quite the experience to watch it all unfold in front of you and herd the cats, ain't it. Though you ran this one, I still have got a number of PM's from people still wanting to give, and from people that have given and are asking do they need to give anymore if we need it! IMAGINE!? This happens all the time, hell, every time. Every time we do one of these it's the same, and then the heavy hitters come in and put it over the top. Our donations at times go from $5 dollars to individuals giving literally HUNDREDS of dollars. That's incredible.

I can just imagine how you, the young man, and his family felt while you handed over the 1st installment. Kinda warms the heart, don't it!

Nice job you guys, again. LMFAO HA! Just for shit's n giggles, here's like $1500 bucks from a bunch of guys you don't even know, but they're thinking of you and care. LMAO Who does that?

Proud to know you heathens!

What’s Wyatt got his eye on? If you know.

Good question. I bet when he pulls the trigger on his new ride we'll be able to get a pic or two, I'm hoping. Hell, the way we're going if I were him, I'd bank it, build it up a bit with his mowing and snow blowing and buy a damn car. @Sean the Nailer what's the legal age to drive on your own up there, eh?

I like under “HARLEY DAVIDSON BMX” and couldn’t find any information on that model “bike” Is it sort of similar to a Heritage Softtail?

What’s Wyatt got his eye on? If you know.
Yes, we'd asked him last night, and his reply was "I've been looking at the Sunday Bikes, 'Blue'". It took me a bit, but I figured out that there is a bike company out there that is literally named "Sunday Bikes". Sorta like Schwinn, Nishiki, Norco, and whatnot. Who'd a thunkit?

As for driving, one needs to be 16 to get their learner's license here. HIm getting a ve-Hicle (Col. Potter voice there) won't be for a number of years, yet. And he sure takes care of this Zero-Turn that he's got.

As stated, we handed over $1,250ish bucks last night, and then two more fabulous folks donated today, not to mention the snail-mails AS WELL AS yet another "Upside-Downer" is attempting to do a Wire Transfer. We'll see how that one works out.

It's huge, guys. The family themselves are 'changed'.... and looking at life with a new outlook. YOU ALL have YOU ALL to thank for that. Ya'll done good and I'm Proud to know ya!

And, fwiw, when his bike was stolen, it actually was 'locked'. The key for it was in his locker, and the lock itself was laying on the ground, open. He is DEFINITELY going to be getting a gooder lock. Another student's bike was stolen that day too, from the same bike-rack. It wasn't locked at all though.

G'day ya'll, and just wanted to share in the progress here. I was finally able to put up a 'not-for-public-release' video of me presenting Wyatt with the funds (they were on his father's phone/pp account) so if you want to see it then hit me with a PM and I'll share with you the link.

Overly secure here, because he's a minor. Not trying to be 'ridiculously secretive' or anything.

Sean

Guys an' Gals, I can't stress this enough.

What you're seeing in that video is only the "first presentation" because we had to give what we had accumulated, up to that point, because of the complete "shutdown" here of the Province because the 'chinfluenza' is skyrocketing out of control. Exponentially.

There are still a number of snail-mails coming in (getting through the border is done by using pack-mules and they route them through Tibet) some more PP's that have come in, at least 1 E-Transfer from an upside-down continent, and our own contribution to kick into the mix as well.

Personally, after all that you've done already, I'm aiming to hit the 2 G mark. Now, that is NOT on you at all, and I'm NOT asking for more. I'm simply showing everyone just how incredible, how inclusive, and how ALTRUISTIC this whole group is.

And I'm DAMNED PROUD to know you! All ya'll.

Blessings,
Sean

And we're Damned proud of you and to be able to call you Friend......... ;) (y):)

Gentlemen:

The Good Guy's WIth Guns (GGWG) group is looking to support a fine young man up in Canada this time. @Sean the Nailer is in contact with a family whose Son had a BMX Bike of some sorts stolen recently. Yep, even up in Canada. The young man has impressed our friend Sean to the point he/we would like to show him and his family some support from our side of the Border.

The young man, to replace his Bike, came up with a plan to clear snow and mow yards, so he got his Father to back him on a piece of equipment the Son is paying the Father back in installments. All this to replace his Bike. Well, we'd like to help him with his business by taking a dent outta his machine costs as well as just buy him a new Bike.

If you'd like to join us in this endeavor for a good cause, we'd love to have you participate. We'll run this for a few days, then Sean once all the funds arrive will be making a trip to their Home to spread some joy!

If you're willing to send funds via PayPal, I know alread!, here's the account we're using. [email protected]

If you'd like to send via Snail Mail, as I am tomorrow, please reach out to @Sean the Nailer or myself for the name/address info.

Thanks ahead of time guys. We'll knock this out and put a HUGE smile on that family's face and brighten up the young mans world!

@1J04

Oh, and once again James, Huge thanks to you for this ! I just watched the video with Sean and Wyatt. I fell apart at about 5:00.....:)

You and Sean are the shizzle........(y)(y)(y)

Just letting ya'll know, that today we received the first of the many "snail-mail" contributions. Sharing this with ya'll, so's that you can understand the time-delay (space/time continuum?) that happens at the border. Especially when they route through Tibet. And use pack-mules.

HA.

As things arrive, I'll be contacting the sender's specifically. To let them know.

All's good, this is 'normal' and we (up here in Canuckistania) hope ya'll appreciate just how good ya'll have it.

I hope there are other contributions that trikle in through the snail mail.
To give you an example, I sent funds to a Mfg. not named but starts with a H.
Started in early Oct. on their goodwill and trust and yesterday I sent them a corrected check to clear things up.
I made ass and didn't make the check out right as to the payee. My bad but they stuck with me. Good people.

The point is, snail mail can sometimes take a long time to get to you. I hope you get snail mail from all over at some time or another and make this a little bit better for Wyatt.

Lash , you get some stickers made up and i will throw one on my truck. Will be shooting volusia match in dec. and will slap it on right then and there. 😀😀

I haven't sent mine yet. It's been very busy around here. I will get it out as soon as things slow down a bit.
That's not a problem at all, my friend. Not to worry.

And for EVERYBODY, a huge and continued 'Thank You' to all who've donated. I've resurrected this thread today to let everyone know that the mail is starting to come in now. 1 piece on Tuesday, 1 piece on Wednesday, and 3 pieces today. I have PM'd those whom we've received from, just to let you know/confirm that it appeared. The time delay is typical when shipping between Canada and the U.S. This is because the pack-mule train that they use is SLOW, and the route that they take through Tibet is long. And since it is Winter now, them passes ain't easy to climb.

HA. Such is life up here in the North, but we deal with it as best we can.

Ya'll are a GREAT bunch of folks, and I'm DAMNED proud to know ya!

Sean

Thanks for reminding me of this. I got busy with some stuff and dropped the ball on the sticker idea. Let me go back and see where we were with regards to design. I seem to recall that there was another change order posted... 😜😉

Our vote, is all the GGWG letters being one colour, no flag included because 'what countries to we include, and/or which countries do we exclude?' type of thing.

But the 'blue line' and the 'green line' I/we here think is definite. Only other question I'd have, is should it be a single line, one end of it blue, and the other end of the same line green? Many LEO's are former military, right?

To keep things from getting 'rainbowish', I'm thinking the single line that is dual-colored. As stated, everybody (almost everybody) supports the LEO's, but who out there is prominently supporting the soldiers?

Okay, so here goes...final iterations (plural). In my "expert" opinion, I see no reason, other than logistics, that one could not just choose a color that one liked and go with it. The only input I need at this point is for you that would like to have one to give me an idea of letter color. That way, I (maybe) won't end up with a whole bunch of sad, unwanted stickers in a single color.

Oh and Sean, I decided to keep the two lines as it just balances better as a design element.

Here goes:

Hey there guys, just an update here, and to let you know that 2 more envelopes arrived in today's mail. The sender's have been notified via PM's.

This is to show ya'll that the effects of the greatness is still happening, and when a person says "every little bit helps" in this case here with GGWG's,,,, that REALLY is true.

Hey All,
I just got this message today, from Wyatt's dad. This is what Wyatt has written out, addressed to ya'll here:

Hello good guys with guns.
This is Wyatt, how are you? I am writing this letter because a few weeks ago, two of your members Sean and Serena came over before this crisis. They read me a letter that you as a team wrote ( I am guessing ) but it was explaining how it had come to your attention that I was running a small business, and had recently had my new bike stolen.

They also read how the world needs more people like me because of my perseverance and determination. I want to thank all of you that donated me a sum of money that keeps growing every day and I wanted to thank you all for what you have done. I wanted to share some of my future plans for this money with you.

I already have two new customers during the winter and I plan to buy a snowblower and proper shovel for my business of shoveling driveways. I also plan to replace the bike that was stolen from me with a decent quality lock to keep it from being stolen again.

I thank you all so so much this really has changed my life and made me feel real good on the event.
Sincerely
Wyatt
