We had cold weather and snow so I had a total of 2. Anybody need some candy? I have 3 bags.

When I was a kid this weather would have slowed us down some but we would all be out for Trick or Treat.

Kids today are pussies.

We too only had 2 children at our door. One "Viking" young man, and one "Dracula" young lady. It was good to see them, but yeah, we also have all kinds of extra stuff.

The cold... As well as smartphones and social media. After the success of Pokemon GO, they went on to release a Harry Potter themed game which also required players to travel to different locations. There were special perks released on Halloween and everybody was probably glued to it. I guess if it gives kids their exercise running around and helping them make friends, it is doing some good...

I spent it cleaning about 300 fired .45 LC cases and prep them to be reloaded again. Just discovered I still had about 1/2 canister of the dreaded Pyrodex propellant and shot it up in the last range outing. Damn that shit is dirty.

Had a total of 2, When I was kid I lived in NYC, we would hit so many apartments and stores that I would have to go home to dump and go out again. No parents came with us, we were little fucking terrors on a sugar high mission.

I never get many kids on my street. I am part of a really large neighborhood, but all the way in the far corner, down a quiet street with 5 houses and my house is the only one with lights on Halloween night. Kids can go the opposite direction and find more houses with lights on. I agree, no one puts in effort anymore

No sir, those good old days have passed. Back then candy was a treat and kids were skinny. Halloween was special.

My 32 yr old friend went to an adult halloween party tonight. Left her husband and 2 kids at home. Oh, shes also staying overnight there. Lmao like nothing bad will come of that.

Halloween is overrated anyway. Was never much of a fan. Even as a kid.

A pack of 5 inflatable T-Rex's hit every house they could in our neighborhood and filled their bags to the brims. Their parents were safely ensconced within their homes, only venturing outdoors to bribe the ghouls and fairies that wandered by. While not every house participated, I'm quite confident that every kid in our neighborhood was out trick or treating. We gave away all the candy we had. Rumor has it the T-Rex's "won Halloween," at least in our neighborhood.

My 3 pounded pavement and got a ton of candy.
150 pieces each last night!

Little turds would have went more but we made em turn in.
We like to get hone at a decent time, hand out candy (kids love answering the door) and watch Charlie Brown.

They did have fun and so did we.
Kids were Steve from Minecraft, SWAT officer, and Charzard from Pokemon.
Momma was Little Red Riding Hood and I was the woodsman who saves her.
Just dressed outta my closet and carried an axe. People freaked of course..... ?

At one house, the guy told me “hold on” and came back with a stainless cup with a healthy pour of Eagle Rare for the non-candy eating dad.

Took glass back later. He poured more and told me to bring it back this weekend...... ?

Also in Colorado and we had more than expected. Ran out of candy. But we're also a 'known' neighborhood were they come from other areas to trick or treat. I used to take my daughter and her friends out and wear them out by the end of the night. But they had more candy then they knew what to do with.

We had just about 100 kids at our door this year. Unfortunately, they’re not all neighborhood kids, they arrive in droves from some of the lower income areas. The police actually lock down traffic in and out.
All is well though, everyone was respectful we shut it down at 930pm

We always have a festive party....my bowl of red with other assorted appetizers. Made some nice crab cakes this year to go with the pot of chili.

We had 4-5 families plus the kids invite other friends..so we had 15 kids and 10 adults.....Do a 4 mile loop....kids have a blast, especially, at one house that is all decked out. The owner always is hiding amongst the decorations in his yard and jumps out with an ax or sword. This year he had a pitchfork...LOL

Adults pull a drink cart so we can have our refreshments.

Since we are out, we leave a big metal pumpkin bowl on our stoop with an honor system sign. There is always some left

When I was a kid Halloween was a big thing in our town of 850-1000, depending on who you counted.

We were out there getting our goodies and had a bar of soap to rub on windows of the Grinch.

We hit it, rain, snow, shine or a blizzard, we were there. The "Older" kids did most of the "tricking" and they were good at it. We learned from them so we would know what to do when we became"Older." 10-14 years old.

Since it was such a big thing for me when young, I miss the Kids coming by, as I give the Big treats and am well known for catching the "Trickers." --- OLD FART appears out of no where and "Gottcha."

I fear it is an Old tradition that was a lot of fun for everyone and got the kids out in the cold to get their "Rewards" to a point that the parents don't want them out there to carry it on, and they do have valid concerns,

However, I do miss the fun and games that went on.

It is sad to loose that for both the kids and their parents, what used to be fun is something they don't feel comfortable doing now.

However, My Son had over 200 at his house so I guess all is not lost. and he lives in the City.

Had a sign up in front of the house, "Hi, we all went over to the VFW for Trunk-R-Treat, see you there". Was a blast. The women all decorated up the trunks or tailgates of our cars in the parking lot, dressed up, and gave the kids a royal treatment. Inside was hot soup and sandwiches for the participants (all comers), and us guys all got together at the "First Liars' Table" and got up to sync about our guns n stuff (chat only, no firearms in our Canteen). Rumor has it there may have been adult beverages served to us Liars.

Shoulda seen Elena in her fan/blow up T-Rex Outfit. AbsoLUTEly a blast.

One guy even set up his ATV trailer as a bowling alley so the kids could play pumpkin bowling.

Gave the kids and their families a safe place to trick-r-treat.

Obviously an old wives' tale told by parents. My guess is it was an excuse for parents to go through kid's candy first and pick out what they want.

Our church does a trunk or treat with massive amounts of fun, treats, and candy.
Kids were with their other parents for it this year, so they missed it.
Hopefully next year!!!

It was cold, about 40 degrees at 5pm and 20 degrees by 8 pm, but we still had 200+ kids past the house this year. My favorite costumes were “homeless” with cardboard signs about needs candy, and the down the block Chinese family’s 4 year old saying “Happy Harroween” after I gave him some candy. There were more groups of teen girls this year than previous, one of them was saying the rhyme “trick or treat, smell my feet” leaving my neighbor’s driveway and another in her group chimed in with “and lick my asshole”. It was really funny at the time, but she was probably 14 (and dressed like a slutty cop). We live in a neighborhood people travel into for trick or treating, so it’s lots of fun.
