GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMENTS

Re: GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMEBTS

I know what your saying but I've been using the "Gift" feature for a long time now and have never had a problem. Its the only way to somewhat beat their system and not pay the fee's.
Lots of good people around here as you already know so I don't worry about getting taken. If its lost while enroute then its a shipping issue. Just my take on it

Yes I would be very careful using the gift feature. If someone scams you.. you are completly out of luck! If you know/trust someone sure no problem but yes be very careful!

Re: GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMEBTS

I was banned from paypal for offering their service for covert payment for an AR-15. They refuse to lift the ban and I do all I can to educate others in our sport to stay clear of them if at all possible.

Re: GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMEBTS

My experience using the gift feature is limited to one time and it did not get me out of paying the fees . It just makes you pay the fees on the your side rather than on the sellers side .

I liked it better years ago when people just sent each other money and 90% of the time gear and payment passed each other in the mail . All Paypal and Gunpal have done is play off our mistrust of one another in order to make huge profits .

Most banks will give you a Cashiers check for free if you bank there and a stamp is 40 some odd cents . Fuck PP and GP if you ask me .

Re: GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMEBTS

You're not as protected as you think with a regular Paypal payment. In fact, you have almost no protection when it comes down to it. And sending as a gift is the same protection as sending a money order or a cashier's check... None. The gift option is nice because it allows you to send instant payment and NOT pay a fee. So Paypal has to process the payment but gets NO fee so those who hate Paypal should actually like this for what it is/does. Just be sure to not put anything in the notes or subject and you will be just fine. PM or email the full name and shipping address and all will be fine. I buy/sell LOTs of stuff and have for over a decade now (eBay power seller for years) and haven't had a problem with them yet. Just use common sense and you will be fine.

i dont get out of the fees any longer with a gift option. started a month back. i happened to not hit the gift one time and hit send, guess what, no fees. myself, ill pay the fees if it saves me a special trip to get a money order or to the post office for a postal money order.

Or you just send cash!

Re: GIFTED PAYA PAL PAYMEBTS

Just wait until the siphon your account to the tune of 3 x $400 transactions and then tell you it will take 2 weeks to get your money back.

Paypal is a racket.

Thank goodness for Bank of America....took them 20 minutes to get my money back and to cancel any forward dealings with Paypal.

I've been waiting over 12yrs now and that still hasn't happened. I've had over $50k in my Paypal account at various times including back when it first came out and had a running average of over $25k for a few years straight when I was doing the eBay thing more. The return on money market has always been ahead of the industry standard and the 1.5% cashback on ALL debit card purchases is second to none. I've made over $5k with my Paypal account just in money market dividends and cashback from debit card purchases. Pretty difficult to find something comparable in the banking industry. I understand people have issues, this is true for any financial institution but I believe half of what I hear about Paypal since I don't know anyone firsthand who was burned by Paypal. I do however know about half a dozen people who were boned hard by Wells Fargo so it's easier for me to label them as the anti-Christ. I'm sure if I would have been burned by Paypal I would be singing a different tune but my thought is if they were out to get people I would have been a prime target at some point.
