I'm looking for an arbor press and came across the Giraud Arbor Press. I know Giraud makes a really good trimmer. Does any one have a review of their arbor press?

Re: Giraud Arbor Press - looking for feedback

Depends on what it costs. There are several arbor presses on the market and their purpose is pretty simple - push straight down. If you read the instructions that come with a Wilson die, they say even pushing down with your hand is good enough for bullet seating (and Wilson is not one to be casual about accuracy).

Re: Giraud Arbor Press - looking for feedback

I don't have one but I do have his trimmer and I'm pleased with it. I wouuld imaging this press is well built.

I do use an Arbor press quite often though and my thoughts would be this...its a simple device as stated above, only used to push downward..you can't push just one side of a seating or neck die down farther then the other side, so in my opinion the dual bars are not needed.
I also see that it looks like there are four screws that would have to be loosened and re tightened to move it up & down which doesn't take alot of time but there are simpler ways to achieve the same result..The K&M is another thats a pain to adjust in regards to other brands.
The Sinclair is as a simple one that will achieve everything you need But....Grizzly offers a Bald Eagle brand that is almost identical and cost much less. This is just my opinion and YMMV....I myself wouldn't even consider this one, I'd also look at the Harrells.

Re: Giraud Arbor Press - looking for feedback

I use a K&M arbor press for seating and neck sizing after shoulder bump, I don't like having to use tools to adjust the height, but I did add the seating force attachment which I do like, so my advice is look at a Sinclair, Harrels or 21st Century, I never seen the Grizzly one before but if it's tool less height adjustable consider it too.

I can't speakfor the arbor press, but I own the giraud trimmer, and annealer, and both are top notch. With that said, I'm sure these are built with the same quality.

I totally agree with cigarcop. I have used several through the years. I am using 1 from 21st Century and they are very well made and all that you need. He makes high quality products and would recommend looking at his stuff. They are a great price for the quality.
