I don't shoot enough to buy a Giraud. Between my buddy and I, we shoot enough and HATE trimming / chamfering / deburring enough that when one came up for sale, I asked him if wanted to go halfsies and we got ourselves an almost new Giraud for about the same price as an RCBS Trim Pro (with motor).
Well I finally used it today to trim 200 pieces of 223 Rem brass that I am prepping for my bolt action. I took a few minutes to familiarize myself with the trimmer. It was currently set up for 308, but it took me 5 mins to change the cutter and case holder to the 223. I installed a Hornady Die Lock Ring to make caliber changes easier in the future. Took me 2 mins to get it exactly setup to trim to 1.750.
I trimmed 200 pieces in 17 mins. This includes checking quite a few for length as I went along. It was within +/- 0.001 each and every time.
I have 800 pieces of 223 left to process and about 1400 pieces of 308 that I need to rerun through a body die (did not setup my die correctly and need to bump the shoulders on all of hem to be sure). Trimming will definitely not be the chore it used to be. Heck I can trim / chamfer / debur faster than I can FL size the brass.
Definitely the best investment I have ever made.
