With things being they way they are, I realized that many of my rifles haven't seen the range for some time. How confident are you in your set up? I think I'm going to have to take a day or 2 to get out and check out how things are shooting.
I focus on three rifles (bolt, large frame semi and small frame semi) and shoot them multiple times per month in the desert...As you know, everything with shooting sports is perishable so best to keep up with it.
Why have you not trained with yours in some time? Does this apply to all your stuff or just some that more or less sit in the safe while you regularly shoot other setups?
if you have quality components and a quality build, nothing changes for me. maybe temp and altitude at distance, but the whole idea or rezero every fall for deer hunters entertain me. same ammo, same rifle, same glass, same mount, same results

Diabetes and End Stage Kidney Failure. The dialysis takes up Mon-Wed-Fri and Tue-Thu-Sat, I feel so bad I don't usually want to leave the house. Diabetes and the shakes have taken away my enjoyment of serious range time.
I usually take family members and coach, then a mag for me. As for how many, I'd prefer not to elaborate.

Are you that sure? Things do happen and sitting a rifle in a safe doesn't mean it doesn't get knocked around a wee bit. I want to make sure everything is GTG if needed (for hunting season that is).

I also didn't mention the eyesight. I can't see the X, much less hit it. But when I do go out I enjoy helping the younger crowd get involved. When my kids were in college, we'd pack a few of them in the truck, head to the range and teach them that firearms aren't evil. Many were flaming Liberals. Most came away with a new appreciation of firearms. One kid joined the school's rifle team. I got through to more than I ever thought possible.
Good on you for working with young people to change (free) their mind from leftists demonizing firearms...we all need to make as much of an effort as possible to open people’s minds so they realize “evil guns” are just tools like a cars or can openers, nothing more or less.
I’ve been able to get a couple of my own family members shooting who were previously ambivalent and to some extent, fearful of guns. Now they accompany me to the desert more often than not when I go.
