Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 35 Gen 3 or Gen 4?

I am sure this question has been posted before but is it really worth it to get a Gen 4? I will be doing some work but keeping it production legal for USPSA. Any opinions? Sorry for the repost if there is an already existing post. Thanks!

I like my Gen 4 better than my Gen 3, but that's just me. Go with what fits your hand best.

I would go with the gen4. You can make the 4 fit the same as a 3, but it costs to change the grip on the 3.

Both my 34 and 35 are Gen 4 for the grip versatility. I picked them up for the same purpose as you have, and I prefer the more aggressive texture for range use. The backstrap swapping is an added bonus for me.

My take:

Gen 3 IF you like to do your own grip reduction/stiple mods.

Gen 4 IF your going to keep it factory.

I prefer the Gen 3's because I always remove the finger notches and stiple to my prefered the texture.

I was looking into this as well.

I don't think Glock Gen 4's are legal in California.

Unless you do a single shot to get it in, looks like your choice is made unfortunately...

My preference is for 4th Generation Glocks due to the smaller overall grip diameter from it being shorter front to back, the additional grip texture, the bigger mag release and the barrel is better fitted on average compared to the 3rd Generation Glocks for the dozens I've checked on my hand and the groups are slightly better at 25 yards in my experience.

Rich I really appreciate the offer but I am down in Southern California so it is a bit of a drive to Elk Grove. I haven't had a chance to really mess around and shoot a Gen 4 but my time is really limited. I am wondering if they make an enlarged beaver tail back strap because I shoot with a very high grip.

which gen doesn't matter, lead downrange does. Buy lots of mags and ammo and get used to it. After a couple thosand rounds down the pipe you won't give a damn.

Yes they do! It comes with medium and large back straps with and without the beaver tail.
