wow these are hard load. i got 3 old 10 round mags with my g23 one of them has a +2 extender on it which is funny joke apparently because getting 2 more bullets in it is impossible

. is it just the design of these mags or are the 13 round mags hard to load too? are the 9mm mags hard to load? the finger saver easy loader thing doesnt help at all.

Re: glock 40cal mags

They shouldn't be, but you can use the loader to help break in the springs. The +2 pierce extenders really aren't woth the hassle. I generally only use the grip extension because I have large hands with my G27 & G30. I have seen many of those pop right off in tactical reload situations on the G23. The extra 2 rounds put two much tension on the spring.

Re: glock 40cal mags

When I started running a 24 in USPSA I installed the Dawson +5 (more like 3.5 to 4 in .40cal) basepads, springs, & followers. They were stiff but I let them stay loaded at max capacity minus one round for a week or two and it helped.

mail me a magazine, ill send it back loaded. im sure the problem isnt my hands lacking strength. i can load 10 rounds into a 10 round magazine but its a pain in my ass. i was wondering if its just these mags, just the 10 round mags, or if all glock mags are a PITA to load.

You want me to mail you a $120 magazine so you can prove how tough you are, and illegally mail ammunition to me?

No thanks.

I believe I know the problem, given this startling revelation.

Your wording suggests that you know it's not your beastly hands that are questionable, but in fact where you feel the pain. Your anal sphincter is not the best available utility when trying to grip a mag, especially a stiff Glock. Further, if you are then using big manly hands to try and wedge rounds into the mag while "holding" it there, I can see how this will quickly end in a PITA situation. Try using both hands and see if your ass feels better (the other hand is to grip the mag, not double up on the insertion force.. just in case there was any confusion).

AMEN TO THAT!! I have loaded all sorts of mags in my lifetime, but the STI mags are in a whole other world in terms of difficulty of fully loading them. After a few thousand rounds, mine seem to have improved significantly (or at least I am used to them now)!!

As for your Glock mags...get a mag loader if they are that bad. Glock, Maglula, etc....pick one.

i have a mag loader, its a piece of shit. 10 rounds fit into my 10 rounds magazines. the 10 round aint easy but it goes. i have a +2 on one mag, but it holds no more than 10 rounds. i have been informed by someone helpful that +2 only applies to 9mm, and with 40cal its only an additional 1 round which is the impossible round to load.

Re: glock 40cal mags

Mag extensions have their place, but putting a +2 extension on a 10rnd mag for a pistol that has factory, flush-fit, 13rnd mags available is just a stupid, STUPID idea that was doomed to failure to begin with.

If you ditch the crappy limited/reduced capacity mags for the 13rnd factory Glock mags, you'll solve all your problems. Yes, it will be tough to get a full 13rnds loaded at first, but they break in fairly fast (a few hundred rounds) and they'll serve you much better than the ones you are running now with the damned extensions (and they'll give you a full 13rnds in the mag for a true 13+1 capacity in your G23).

Re: glock 40cal mags

I hads the same problem-have the Glock "forty shorty"-bought the 13 round mags with the plastic 'bridge' that fills in the gap between the pistol well base and the exposed inch or so of the extended mag...Glock perfection...
