I have 2 Glock magazines that came with my g22 from the factory that have a 1 stamped on the back and 2 factory Glock magazines I bought separate that have a 2 stamped on the back. Does anyone know the difference? The numbers are to the right of the Glock logo and just above where it says Austria.

Re: Glock Magazines

Glock never did anything that straightforward. You have to have a road map showing the different characteristics to tell one generation from the other. The new ambi mag is gen 7 but there is no ambi G22.

I have a couple of dozen of Glock mags in three different calibers (none of them is .40 S&W) and none of them have a number like you mention. I'd imagine its something to do with some sort of a production accounting function.

Re: Glock Magazines

As far as I know, the only difference with magazines should be with the follower. Glock has made several different versions of followers.

The new Gen4 G22 is ambi.

Feed lips and liners are also different.
