By and large, GMM is noted for two things- great accuracy and soft brass. Does anyone know of any experiments or have any thoughts if the two are related?

Interesting. Honestly, I doubt there's much to it beyond a possible link between softer brass and lower neck tension. My experiments point toward improved accuracy corrsponding to lower neck tension.
