Go Ahead. Tell me you wouldn't.

I dated a senators daughter that was beyond what I would classify as a nymphomaniac.
I would classify her as totally nuts.
You could tell if she had more than 3 beers because she licked her lips nonstop unless she had something stuck in between them.
And I’m quite sure you put something there more than once? lol

You morons do know that schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder are two completely different psychiatric diagnosis right?

@Clearlight - if you have ever see someone suffer from schizophrenia (prozac doesnt treat it) you would know that risking a lot to feel better is worth it to most.
Till the side effects kick in and they want to stop their meds.
Psych meds pretty much suck for side effects.

And yes, that brunette is cute. And doesnt have schizophrenia.

Gotta love the side effect of death or suicide listed as a side effect on half the drugs they peddle on TV these days.

What we need is a pill to fix stupid.

The ex-wife liked to take several different types of happy pills with the fire-water. Then she wondered why we couldn't get along and why she didn't have any friends.

A lot of psych meds have this as a side effect.
Living untreated With severe mental illness is living hell, from the folks I have met who suffer from this kind of stuff.

There is a significant difference between schizophrenia and stupid.

we know which pill you need.

Almost every scrip medication and over the counter has the risk of death, and I’m not talking about needing a epi-pen.

The occurrences are so low/so many standard deviations out, that you do not have to print it on a label.

Take Tylenol, last year I made 4 billion tablets.
And that’s just me, not Tylenol the brand itself.

It’s also combined with most scrips that need a headache remedy because of the side effects of the real drug etc.

People die from “Tylenol “ overdosing every year, it’s just such a small percentage that it’s not spoken about.

Part 2 is most states allow a primary doctor to prescribe mood alternating drugs.

Xanax, Valium, etc

Primary doctors do not have the education or the process set up for monitoring the mental health like a real shrink does.

So then you have a banged up patient that has a stressful life, going home taking Xanax (scrip from 3 years ago) with a glass of wine to “function” when the kids get home from school.

6 months later she puts a gun in her mouth and they blame the drugs...no.

It’s the lack of supervision and speaking to a shrink to get to the root of the problem.

People go to a shrink and lie all the time...they see it from a mile away. It’s called drug seeking behavior, which turns into doctor shopping.

Also as a patient you have to be your own advocate.

There is no test currently to help a shrink choose between Zoloft and Prozac or other SSRI’s. It is a decision made from schooling and experience.

They both/all have suicidal tendencies, they both can be used to treat the same type of disorders (also allowed to be used off label if needed).

Take the wrong one and don’t tell the doctor the truth or never go back...might not work out so well.

Also when you read that drug is 50% less likely to have a certain side effect.

It means that the drug it is competing or replacing...may have had 20 reactions per 100 and this one only had 10 adverse reactions.

It’s too bad there isn’t a stupid pill..believe me I understand

But it’s a fine line between locking up a person in a crazy house against their will and giving them meds to function.

So,speaking from a view point that I have fired more Nurse Practitioners this year than you probably seen in your lifetime here's my opinion.
You talk about drug seekers, how about attention seekers.
In Ohio, Nurse Practitioners are the new doctor, cheap labor while the doctor lines his pockets.
It's an insult to the profession and danger to the patient

The short version- in 2019 I had a widowmaker heart attack in the recovery room at the hospital.
The Doctor's in the cath lab DIDN'T completely read my chart and gave me the wrong meds.
That mistake cost me 60 days in the hospital and a life that should have been great left completely upside down.
But one thing has remained constant, every office vist is a new pill.
I played the game for a while, leading them on until one day I walked into the office and demanded to see the doctor.

What I did next was,I produce a bag full of pills that were the cure all.
Needless to say that I didn't take any of these meds the NP prescribed the doctor was shocked.
Shocked because, one by law he needed to know what his NP was doing.
And two,I turned my wife loose, she has over 30 years working geriatric physic.

So yeah they're willing to freely give you "Feel Good"pills and fuck a person ALL UP and in the same breath "Label" you if you ask for a pain pill.

Look at that chin 14 seconds into the video. That's a man, man

Hospital Settlements Tied to Doc in Murder Case Now Top $16M
An Ohio hospital system has reached more settlements related to a doctor who's charged with murder and accused of ordering excessive painkillers for dozens of patients who then died.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt on this,so I'll add this.
You see how they spotlighted the Doctor?
That hospital should pay and pay dearly because there were 4 (FOUR) saftey checks covering each prescription.
So what I'm saying is EACH of the four separate people performing the saftey audit dropped the ball.

Nurses, pharmacists and metor Physicians.
So with that I want you to think just how flawed their system is.
Again, the hospital had four chances with each patient and blew it while also labeling the doctor 100% liable.

Bad thing about Ohio lawsuits against doctors are capped but if you're a veterinarian and kill a dog the family will own you

You don't get any argument from me. I'm not going to claim any expertise in the medical field but when this happened, myself and a lot of others were wondering what the nurses or other staff members were doing.

Regarding drugs for mental health, IMHO, some are needed and some aren't. There are patients who don't take the medication that they need as prescribed and there are those that take medication that shouldn't be prescribed.

The problem that I have with some of these patients that have mental health issues and/or abuse the happy pills is that they sometimes point their fingers at sane people and accuse us of being crazy.

Full disclosure: I had bat shit crazy ex-wives who would do that to me all the time. So regardless of how sympathetic I am to a woman struggling with real mental health problems, I would rather draw on an inside straight with my house and pension at stake than to ever get mixed up with another one. I'd be better off licking door knobs in China than to ever get involved with someone with mental health issues.

@Ravenworks - 4 people. Every time, except in emergent situations. Then the nurses have to know their shit and have balls to tell a doc NO.

I once had a doc give me the incorrect verbal order for a med twice in the same emergent situation.
Patient was trying to actively die and he was messing up bad.

Well, that night I said To myself this is the worst mistake I have ever seen and if I hadnt refused and argued, the med would have killed the patient right there.

I called the Manager, Director, Chief of Staff, and Chief Medical Officer.
He was forced to stop work and take a piss test.
I never saw the results, but he put a .38 in 1 ear and out the other 2 days later. That was evidence enough for me.

He was on something. My prior questions about it had been swept under the rug.
He was smart and caring (One if the nicest to his patients I ever saw) with good credentials, top of premed at an Ivy League school and top ED resident at Duke.

What was the patient trying to take that was gonna kill em? Why’d they wanna die?

@Forgetful Coyote - the patient had a Pretty rare And emergent medical condition that needed treated.
First with meds, then with a procedure. All in quick succession.
The patient didnt take anything, Just had bad luck to have that happen.

Doc gave the wrong med order. Not wrong dose. Completely wrong med for this patient.

Like Aleve. If you read the (extremely) fine print:

Important information
You should not use Aleve if you have a history of allergic reaction to aspirin or other NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug).

Naproxen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine.

Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).

Get emergency medical help if you have chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, or problems with vision or balance.

Aleve may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using naproxen, especially in older adults.

See someone ? I lived with one for a while..... Remaining calm while someone is throwing
various household items at you is so much fun! Years of playing cricket and other ball
sports proved to be quite useful at that time.

For fuck sakes fellas, how you gonna take a perfectly funny thread and fuck it up with reason, logic, facts and the worst possible thing anybody can bring to the table, is your goddamn feelings, keep them motherfuckers where no one can get to them, and I promise without a doubt that you’ll have more fun.
