the lapua has a bigger bolt head than the edge or the RUM and the edge has more powder capacity then the RUM exceeding the 338LM in ballistics.
A good friend of mine has an edge built on a savage and it is scary accurate.

I would go 338 RUM excellent performance and easier to run as a repeater than the edge.

The 338RUM would be alil easier to get to be a repeater on a savage but will still take some work. I wonder how a 338-375 ruger would fit in a savage magazine.

Only reason I'd go with edge is because 300 rum brass seems a lot easier to find than the 338 rum brass. Other than that things are pretty equal.

you guys are not having any issues with the small shank I guess. I was going to build an Edge off a 111 but several people told me it was not safe. Now I hear all you guys doing it so I might just have to try it.

After saving for some time, just to afford a .338 bolt action I chose a Dakota .338 Lapua. My question is you see the savage rifle and Remington .338. Do these rifles use same brass as the Lapua
cartrige? Where am I wrong?

Some say it isnt safe. I did alot of research when i built my edge. I never once found any info that said they had any trouble building them on a small shank action and there are alot of them running. Hope this helps.
