I am waiting for my (.300WM) build to come back from Warner Tool. I am currently getting all my components ready to reload for it.

I am kinda stuck on which Die set to get. Now I always buy Redding Dies for my loads but this is the first Bushing set im going to get. I want to be as precise as possible thats why im going with a bushing set for this one.

Here is what I want to go with for a die set:

Redding Type S Bushing Match 2-Die set
w/
Innovative Technologies Collet Die
I heard to find the right bushing you measure a loaded round and subtract .001" - .003" to find your bushing. Correct?

Im wondering if im making a good decision for a die set.

Whats your opinion?

Thanks

Im going to be loading 210gr. Bergers/ 208gr. A-MAXS and H-1000 for long range work. Cant wait till the new Hornady Bullets come out!

What brand of brass will you be running? I use a .334" bushing with my Nosler brass, for about .003" tension. I use a .332" for my Win brass.

If you were to get a Redding 3 die match set (comp seater, neck only bushing die, and body sizing die), you would be fine. If you get a tool to measure the datum point on the shoulder (like an RCBS Precision Mic or similar), then you can measure how much to bump the brass back when FL sizing is needed. You can get 3-4 reloads when neck only sizing before you normally have to bump it back. For a 300WM, I recommend neck only sizing until you need to size it back down. It will increase the number of times you can reload the cases.

There's only been 2, 300WM's I've had problems with FL sizing the brass down to the rifle's chamber. Both had custom chambers, and were very tight. So, a collet die would not be needed, until certain circumstances.

If it were me and I was starting out with a new caliber I would do the
above with a Redding set.
