Suppressors Good double action pistol

Re: Good double action pistol

Well.....Para First ran the LDA in 98 with the improvement of the DA trigger . The bobbed hammer is offered on both the PDA and the LDA models. Im not a historian on Para or the 1911 but how can you miss the BIG PDA lettering on the grips and in the title of the pistol. However, you are right.

Now, with that being said, my reason behind the misconception would be is the trigger pull is so light on the LDA/PDA that it feels like a long SA pull which is why i think some people, including myself, have thought it to be SA and DA.

I stand corrected.

Re: Good double action pistol

I actually think the LDA type pull is superior to traditional double action. I have owned a Sig DAK and it sure beats DA/SA.

I've since sold all but one of my DA pistols, and I'm somewhat glad they're gone...I just prefer single action, myself.

Re: Good double action pistol

After a little more research than I did when I left the PDA in my prior post, I too learned its just a LDA....

I have a HK USPc in 45 (took it in on trade), but it gives no advantage to a similar size 1911, actually its way harder to conceal.

Re: Good double action pistol

I have th full size USP and its like trying to hide a Howitzer. The Para's are what I'm lookin for in CCW. Its slim and comfortable but the .45 is a raspy little fucker in the PDA but I LIKE IT LOL

Hey Sobr....you lookin to get rid of that USPc???

Actually yes, but I'm only looking to do so locally, shipping handguns is a huge pain in the ass.

Re: Good double action pistol

I don't see how any pistol is too big to conceal in a truck, but, if that is the premise, any of the 3rd gen S & W semi autos are excellent choices. Smith made a lot of DAO pistols and they are readily available used. Send it to Novak's if you really want one smoothed out but I find the trigger just fine. The 3953 is a DAO single stack that is very nice. Here is one that sold at a price I could leave in the truck.

3953 Sold for $275

Do a little research and you will find Smith DAO pistols in all calibers with single or double stack mags. I picked up a model 457, 2nd gen 45 acp for $300 that I carry around in the truck. It is DA/SA but there is an equivalent pistol in DAO, I just don't know the model off hand.
