Good generic action wrench?

I have an Origin on the way and a Nucleus when PVA eventually ships it. (If I had known a year ago what I know now I'd just have two Origins).

In any case, I'd like to get just one rear entry action wrench that can work for both actions. Is that possible? I have a barloc on the Nucleus which would eliminate the need for a wrench but I'd prefer to just move to shouldered pre-fits and get rid of the barloc.

That’s not gonna work. The internals are totally different. I’d just pony up the extra $75 bucks or whatever it is, and buy the nucleus wrench.

Actually I would recommend the origin action wrench. The wrench is Specifically for the Bighorn action with a slot in one side that allows the wrench to work without disassembly of the action. It will work in the other actions, I have both actions as well.

I had seen that but its out of stock everywhere. Cant find any place to buy one or get on a backorder/notification list. So that was why I was looking at the Bugholes one.

For the origin, I’d go with the SPR wrench I called and talked to Greg and he was great to allow me to pick his brain on several other questions I had. I’ll have his wrench tomorrow. I have had the bighorn wrench and they are nice. But I believe Greg’s will work without any issue as well.

As said above, you’ll need two wrenches due to three lug vs two lug designs.

I did call bighorn and they have wrenches done, but they are making sure that they can fill all backorders first. I’ve got one reserved that I’m going to cancel because I ordered the big holes wrench. I think I got one of the last ones. You may be able to snag it on monday

So there is nothing specific about the wrench for the Origin? Uses any Rem 700?

The Bighorn wrench has a clearance cut in one of the ears to accommodatethe mechanical ejector of the origin and TL3/SR3. If you were to remove the mechanical ejector, you could use a standard 700 rear entry wrench.

remove the extractor ( i also removed the bolt release for safe measure) and this works fine.

takes 5 seconds to remove those parts. just a set screw.

also half the price and in stock.

Remove the EJECTOR. The extractor won't come in to play on this. Also, you can leave the bolt stop in. No worries there.
