Been looking for a good hardside handgun case for awhile, that will hold 3-4 handguns plus mags, that's not silly expensive. I'm sure I could have something custom made for a pelican etc.
The problem they all seem to have that I've run across is none of them are tall enough to hold a full sized handgun with an optic, esp. if it has a magwell. Something like say an FNX tactical with an SRO or CZ TSO with an optic etc. The same is true for longer handguns like a S&W 41, or a full sized handgun with a threaded barrel. Slap a light/laser on them and it gets even worse because most are spaced so close together that even if you wanted to cut the slots wider to fit the light/laser there isn't enough space between slots to leave any foam. The worst are the cases that tend to hold the guns nose down, because they raise the height of the rear of the gun where the optic is going to be.
Most of the cases only seem to have 5-6" of internal height, even if you removed all the foam that's not enough to fit a full size handgun with an optic and still close the case.
