I would think on a $1700 scope you would have done a little homework before you bought.
But I learned a long time ago a good deal was when you have a happy seller and a happy buyer.

I did do homework and its not my first nightforce and I sure as hell didnt pay 1700

If you already purchased the optic then it's a little late to be wondering or asking if you got screwed, don't you think? To answer your question, you got a good deal if you paid less than MAP (minimum advertised price) which is about $1,864.

The prices keep rising on nightforce scopes and the quality is up there. You said that you got it for under 1700 then you got a good deal. Great scope and nice reticle choice
