So I just got me a 338 lm and went into the store to get a set of dies f or it and was going to pic up a rcbs set. But the guys at the store told me they have had bad reviews on the newer rcbs stuff. I've got a few older sets and they have worked great for years now. So I guess I'm asking what would be a good set for my 338. They had a set of Lyman there but no redding so if I went with those I would have to order those on the net.

Re: good set of dies?

I use the Forster in 338 and can definitely recommend them, the bench rest seating die is a really good piece of kit and they are not all that expensive. Either that or go with Redding.

Re: good set of dies?

Redding competition bushing dies are what I use for my TRG-42 but I have Foresters for other calibers I don't think you can go wrong with either company. I do know first hand that Redding has EXCELLENT customer service. HTH

Re: good set of dies?

Forster, great dies, and superb customer service, they will neck ream to your specs, polish the seater if needed etc., FAST turnaround. Needed some decapping pins last week for a 6 br die, called them on Tuesday, received on Friday, was hesitaqnt what shipping would be.......1.90 in first class padded USPS envelope. None of this $8.00 minimum S and H.
Great people to do business with.
