good virus protection software ?

Re: good virus protection software ?

I replied to your PM with some specific instructions.
Try those first. If that doesn't work, then you may be better served by backing up and reformatting.

Just remember to install and update antivirus before transferring your files back, so that you don't copy the problem back to your computer.

Re: good virus protection software ?

A couple of things: I use Kaspersky - I have visited harmless sites and clicked on a link and up pops a message from kaspersky telling me a trojan has been identified and quarantined. I don't have to take any action - it does everything automatically.

Also: http://www.ixquick.com/eng/protect-privacy.html is a link to a search engine that doesn't allow your ip address to be seen by sites you visit as well as cookies, etc... check it out.

Hope that helps.

FAIL.

Kaspersky is Russian. As in Russian government-funded.

Who just got arrested spying in America?

Oh yeah.

Reinstall Windows, start over, and this time use an anti-virus that isn't owned by a foreign government.
