Try those first. If that doesn't work, then you may be better served by backing up and reformatting.
Just remember to install and update antivirus before transferring your files back, so that you don't copy the problem back to your computer.
go here and follow the instructions. you will have to delete the virus manually. sometimes the software cant handle it. last time I had a bad one it took 20 hours of work.
A couple of things: I use Kaspersky - I have visited harmless sites and clicked on a link and up pops a message from kaspersky telling me a trojan has been identified and quarantined. I don't have to take any action - it does everything automatically.
Also: http://www.ixquick.com/eng/protect-privacy.html is a link to a search engine that doesn't allow your ip address to be seen by sites you visit as well as cookies, etc... check it out.
