Re: .223 case cleaning with CERAMIC MEDIA

Could you elaborate on why you want to switch from stainless to ceramic?

I have only ever used a vibratory (tumbler) cleaner for my brass with Flitz treated walnut media... I do like the idea of having my brass cleaned inside-out... The things that have caused me to shy from ss media is the extra steps (ie drying) and the initial cost.

I didn't even think of the volume to weight ratio for the different medias.

I think I'm just going to have to stick with my vibratory 'tumbler' for a while.

Re: .223 case cleaning with CERAMIC MEDIA

I'm sure it would work great, my only question would be if the ceramic media would break down (into dust) and have to be rinsed out of the cases. If you regularly use stainless media you have a way to dry the brass already so this may be OK for you, I just know one of the main reasons I have not switched to stainless media is because of the added step of drying brass.

I have a feeling that ceramic dust being forced down your barrel would not add to your round count.
