none of your business
Just thought I'd share the news.

Friends from Prescott AZ invited me out to shoot some Prairie Dogs on opening day by Seligman AZ.I was exited because I haven't been out PD shooting in about 3 years because the towns I used to go to locally got the Plague and died off.

My shooting partner was spotting for me while I walked the shot in at a ranged 333 yards. He and I saw the PD tumble over with the Wolf 40 grainer although when we went out to see it it had gotten back into it's hole, rats! He ribbingly said it didn't count,LOL.

I was holding over on line 58 with the IPHY Horus H-70 reticle,Horus Predator 8-26x50 scope,no angled mount from a 50Y zero and was holding around 8 IPHY left wind.Got a few more at long distance too_One at 180Y and a first round hit at 160Y as well as a bunch of them at normal distances.

Great times!

Here's my old Savage/Anschutz 141 I used.Sorry I didn't take any pics yesterday.I wasn't planning on doing a post.

Sometimes you gotta go that extra bit ... might have been worth digging a couple of inches, get to know your prey ;-) and have the proof!

Would be fun to have a couple of folks in the Yavapai Cty area to go out with on occassion!

They are a decent scope for holdovers but mine don't track correctly so I only holdover with it which I prefer to do anyways for certain applications like this one.

Shot em with 22-250 also(the old standby)and with many other chamberings.6mm-284 was the most devastating so far ...75vmax at 3800 fps was gruesome.7mm mag with 100 grain HP's was about the same.

I tried my 6mmART40 on the PD's as well on Thursday. The 105Amax did surprisingly well at blowing them to smitherines at 2900fps.I didn't think they would expand but they were going airborn bigtime.

Re: Got my longest .22lr kill yesterday

not trying to one up you or anything but i pulled off a 652 yd luck shot on a jack rabbit about a month ago,had to hold about 4 feet below the bottom of my field of view, have a witness and everything, granted it took me 3 shots

... its fun making peoples mouth drop when you pull off the hard shots is'nt it!!!

Re: Got my longest .22lr kill yesterday

I have shot a toss during a round of clays with slugs inadvertently, but still hit the damn clays... cheap winchester rifled slugs mind you... If anyone cares... LMAO, just thought I would say it...
