Honestly, I'd rather buy a Magpul mag from someplace that actually supports the 2nd than get one free from the NRA.

The NRA legislates nothing. There are suppressor bans active in several states. There are high cap mag bans in several states. They didn't stop the 10yr AR ban. Has there been a bill that the NRA actually stopped or more rights given back directly because of the NRA? The NRA isn't/hasen't been about gun rights. It wasn't founded on that. It was founded on education. But they rode the "we're fighting for you rights" money wagon and fooled many into giving them money for it.The colors are showing.
Compromising means both sides get something. With guns it just means we lose more recognition of our god given rights. Only thing worse than a gun bragger is a elitist gun owner that supports gun laws or a statist that would rat you out in a second for your “illegal gun”

There's one LARGE segment of the population in the USA that has NOT figured out that there's strength in numbers. Does anyone think there would have been "sunset clause" in the 1994 ban if the NRA had not been involved? Does anyone really think, the NRA could have stopped it and didn't? I don't for a second, I think we are lucky they played the long game, or all this worrying about loosing our AR15s would be moot already.

The new Generation of Firearm enthusiasts have already gone lock stock and barrel for the GOA...the NRA is only being propped up by old die hard fudds at this point. The writing is on the wall and the new sheriff in town will be the GOA, they are aggressive and unrelenting and embody the no compromise spirit of the younger generation of gun owners. They are picking the battles that matter while the NRA is putting on a big show all for nothing.
The NRA has around 3 million more members than GOA. Granted a lot of people should and do send money to both.
State level organizations have been doing a lot of work too. Thank god some like VCDL have balls and a no compromise attitude. Unlike the CA/MD/etc groups.

Truthfully I think that the politicians know that they will be replaced if they voted on any gun legislation. Hence they abdicate the responsibility to the bureaucracy of unelected trash that doesn't fear reprisal.

Asa life member in the NRA its hard toggle them any more money and I haven't in years. Got taken off the call lists and mailing lists years ago. Started giving to RMGO and GOA. If the NRA would refund my theoretical portion of life membership money left and shit can my membership I'd probably do it in a heartbeat. I hope someday they'll get rid of the fat cat bullshit but it is unlikely.

They aren’t giving me any lunch.. it’s not free.. it was other misguided fools money. I’ve already bleed for the constitution and will do so again when the time is right. What are you doing to help? Assault weapons ban of 2013. If you mean during his administration. We lost a lot of ground at the state level during the Obama years also.
