Nothing fancy, same Rem 700 in .308 that I've been shooting for 14 years. A few barrels and one new stock later anyway... Went out to the range this morning. Dialed in 23 MOA of elevation & 2 MOA left windage. Went prone with the sling looped around my upper arm, held hard and cut loose. Sure is satisfying to hear the distant clang when the bullet strikes the gong out there a bit beyond 800 yards. Very satisfying...

Right smack in the middle of Washington State, at the North Central Washington gun club, outside of Wenatchee, above the Columbia River. It's kind of a meeting place of two very different areas. On the west are the heavily forested Cascade Mountains, on the east is a vast rolling pleateau. Mostly wheatfields to the east for 150 miles. Mostly logging to the west.

Guy - I checked the NCW Gun club website for range information but it was not very informative. Kindly advise the following:

-Is NCW a public or members only range
-What is the maximum range one can set up targets

I usually shoot at Kenmore (300 yards) or Machias (500 yards) but would like to find a range where 800 yards is available. Thanks...

Re: Green Machine at 800+

Glad to see the Green machine is still treating you well . I have a similar rifle that was a gift from my wife on our 10th wedding anniversary . Its not real fancy but it just seems to go Bang and Clang .

Re: Green Machine at 800+

Michael - a wife who gives you a rifle is a keeper for sure!

TT - NCW is a club, open to members and guests. We do hold quite a few matches there, F-class, conventional prone, a few across-the-course matches and at least one "tactical" match every year. The public is invited to the matches of course, not restricted to members. Quite a few of the Machias crowd comes over to our October two-day prone match. Jim Cloward set our range record a couple of years back.

We have a 600 yard line, but this steel gong is set up well beyond the 600 yard targets and is avail to shoot from about 820 yards where I was shooting from, or at 1200 and change from the 600 yard line...

Hope that helps! Guy
